The Sims 2: Pets on Game Boy Advance came out in 2006 from Electronic Arts. It was one of those handheld spin-offs that tried to capture the life simulation feel on a much smaller screen. You got to manage a Sim and their pet, which was a neat idea for the time, even if it was simplified compared to the PC versions.

You control your Sim directly, moving them screen by screen through a small town to complete tasks. The main goal is to build your career as a veterinarian by healing sick animals, which involves a lot of running around to find items and avoid obstacles like puddles or trash cans. You also train your pet, teaching it tricks to earn money and improve your reputation. The pacing is fairly quick, with short missions that keep you busy, though the controls can feel a bit clunky during timed sections. It feels like a light, sometimes silly distraction that works in short bursts.
