I picked up The Wild Thornberrys: Chimp Chase for the Game Boy Advance back in 2003, a time when licensed platformers were everywhere. THQ published it, and it fit right in with that era's habit of turning cartoons into side scrolling adventures. It wasn't trying to be groundbreaking; it was just another game based on a show, but it had its own little quirks.

You play as Eliza Thornberry, and your main goal is to rescue Darwin the chimpanzee after he gets snatched. The game plays out across a series of levels, each one a linear path filled with obstacles and enemies. You jump across gaps, swing on vines to cross pits, and avoid animals like charging rhinos or pesky monkeys. There are also these sudden vehicle sections, like snowboarding down a mountain to escape an avalanche, which really break up the platforming. The pacing is pretty frantic, and some jumps require good timing, but it's not overly punishing. It feels like a straightforward, energetic dash from start to finish.
