Thunder Fox is one of those classic Sega Genesis run-and-gun games that somehow flew under the radar. You play as either Thunder or Fox (surprise), two commandos tearing through enemy bases with knives, flamethrowers, and whatever else you can grab. The first level throws you right into it—dodging gunfire, jumping over pits, and figuring out that pistol-whipping guys is way more satisfying than it should be.

What I love is how chaotic it gets. One minute you're blasting choppers out of the sky with a bazooka, the next you're smashing crates for extra lives while some ridiculous boss fills the screen with bullets. The weapons feel weighty, especially the flamethrower—just don't expect subtlety. It's pure '90s action, complete with explosions and a soundtrack that sounds like someone cranked the bass on a metal cassette.

Fair warning: it's tough. You'll die a lot before memorizing enemy patterns, but that just makes clearing a level without losing a life feel like an actual achievement. If you miss when games were loud, fast, and didn't overcomplicate things, this one's a blast.
