Play Thunderbirds : International Rescue Online
Control the Tracy family, pilot Thunderbird machines, complete rescue missions, navigate obstacles, and tackle enemy installations in Thunderbirds: International Rescue on Game Boy Advance.
I picked up Thunderbirds: International Rescue on Game Boy Advance back in 2001, a time when licensed games were everywhere. SCi Games Ltd. put this one out, and it fit right in with the era's mix of ambition and hardware limitations. It was one of those titles you'd grab if you were into the show, hoping it captured some of that model-shot charm on a tiny screen.
You control different members of the Tracy family, each with their own Thunderbird machine, completing missions that involve rescues, sabotage, and obstacle navigation. The main goal is to complete objectives across various levels, often by destroying enemy installations or avoiding environmental hazards. Signature mechanics include piloting vehicles through side-scrolling shooter segments, switching between characters for specific tasks, and managing limited resources like fuel or ammunition. The pacing is methodical, sometimes frustrating when controls feel unresponsive, but there's a tactile satisfaction in successfully guiding these bulky machines through tight spots. It feels like you're orchestrating miniature disasters with your thumbs.
