Tom and Jerry: The Magic Ring came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Warthog. It was one of those early GBA platformers that tried to capture the spirit of the cartoon, back when licensed games were a mixed bag but often had a certain charm. The game follows the usual formula: Tom chases Jerry, and Jerry outsmarts Tom, all over a stolen magic ring that causes all sorts of trouble.

You control either Tom or Jerry across a series of side scrolling levels, each filled with obstacles, traps, and items to throw. As Tom, you try to catch Jerry by running, jumping, and using objects like mousetraps or anvils against him. As Jerry, you avoid Tom, slip through small openings, and turn the environment against the cat with things like falling pianos. The main goal is to complete each stage by either catching Jerry or escaping Tom, while also collecting cheese pieces and other items for extra points. The pacing is brisk, with short levels that encourage quick retries, though some sections can feel a bit repetitive. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes silly cartoon brawl translated directly into game form.
