Combat uses a unique system where you activate attacks through timing-based mini-games; a successful input means a powerful hit, while a mistake can leave you vulnerable. You also collect and upgrade a variety of silly gadgets, which are essential for solving puzzles and progressing through the game's many dungeons. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty comes more from mastering the action commands than from brutal enemy stats. It feels like playing inside a wonderfully bizarre cartoon.
