Tumble Pop is this weird little Game Boy gem where you run around with a vacuum strapped to your back, sucking up enemies like some kind of manic janitor. The second you start playing, you realize how oddly satisfying it is to hoover up a bouncing monster and then launch it across the screen before it wriggles free.
It feels a bit like Bubble Bobble, but with more chaos—enemies drop letters that spell TUMBLEPOP, and if you grab them all, you skip straight to a bonus round full of floating coins and extra lives. The bosses are ridiculous in the best way: a bomb-chucking clown, a grumpy snowman, even a giant alien that looks like it escaped from a B-movie.
What really surprised me was the level editor. It’s janky but fun, letting you build your own stages when you’re tired of the main game’s weirdness. Just don’t expect anything too polished—this is pure, clunky Game Boy charm.
