Tunshi Tiandi III is one of those Genesis games that makes you wonder how you missed it back in the day. You pick a warrior—some swing swords, others throw fireballs—and immediately get tossed into streets packed with enemies who really don’t want you to pass. The first time I played, I accidentally triggered a screen-clearing special move within minutes, and suddenly I was hooked.
It’s got that classic beat ‘em up feel, but with way more flying kicks and energy attacks than your average Streets of Rage run. The sprites are chunky, the animations are exaggerated, and half the fun is seeing how ridiculous your combos can get before someone knocks you into a barrel. Definitely one for fans of chaotic, slightly janky 16-bit action.
