Play Turok Evolution Online
You blast through jungles and ruins as Tal'Set, switching between side-scrolling chaos and over-the-shoulder dino fights—sometimes the raptors even shoot back. Grab a friend if you want, but good luck sharing the rocket launcher.

Turok Evolution came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was part of that wave of console-style shooters trying to find a home on the handheld, a time when developers were really pushing what the hardware could handle. You got a lot of ambitious ports and original titles back then, games that tried to bring a bigger experience to a small screen.
You control a time-traveling warrior named Tal'Set, fighting through prehistoric jungles and ancient temples. The main goal is to stop an evil overlord and his army of dinosaurs and soldiers. The gameplay mixes side-scrolling platforming sections with first-person shooting segments where you aim with the shoulder buttons. You collect keys to progress, find health and ammo pickups, and use a variety of weapons like bows, shotguns, and a cerebral bore. It moves at a fast pace and can be quite difficult, with some cramped level design. It feels like a condensed, sometimes chaotic version of a much larger game.
