Play TV Champion Online
You flail through ridiculous obstacle courses—dodging foam hammers, jumping barrels—while tiny pixelated contestants flop around like they’ve lost all dignity. It’s janky in the best way.
TV Champion is one of those Game Boy games that makes you go, "Wait, how did this even get made?" in the best way possible. It’s basically a tiny, pixelated version of those chaotic Japanese game shows where people flail through obstacle courses or do ridiculous challenges. The first time I played, I was immediately thrown into a race against the clock—jumping over rolling barrels, dodging giant foam hammers, that kind of thing. It’s janky, sure, but in a way that feels intentional, like the developers knew exactly how silly they wanted it to be.
The mini-games are simple—tap buttons fast, time your jumps, don’t faceplant—but there’s something weirdly satisfying about nailing a perfect run. And the sprite work has this goofy charm, with contestants flailing their little limbs like they’re barely holding it together. If you’ve ever stayed up too late watching old clips of Takeshi’s Castle or Ninja Warrior, this feels like stumbling onto a lost episode. Not every challenge lands perfectly, but when it clicks, it’s pure dumb fun. Definitely a weird little time capsule for Game Boy collectors.
