Twintris came out for the Amiga in 1990, developed by SoftTouch and published by Thalion. It was one of those clever puzzle games that made good use of the Amiga's capabilities, especially in two-player mode, at a time when the platform was full of creative and technically impressive software.
You control the falling blocks on two separate playfields at the same time, either by yourself or with a friend in split-screen. The main goal is to clear lines on both boards to keep the game going as long as possible. Its signature mechanics include managing two grids simultaneously, which demands divided attention and quick planning, and several game modes like Time Attack and Survival that change the pressure and objectives. The pacing starts manageable but quickly becomes frantic as the speed increases. It feels like a constant, satisfying test of your ability to multitask under rising tension.
