Vectorman 2 picks up right where the first game left off—except this time, our little green hero gets ambushed on his way back to Earth. Crash-landing in some seriously sketchy territory, you’re immediately thrown into a world of dark, industrial levels crawling with enemies that just won’t quit.
What I love about this one is how fast it moves. You’re blasting through stages, morphing into different forms (the drill mode is weirdly satisfying), and scrambling up walls like some kind of hyperactive robot ninja. The weapons feel chunky and powerful, especially when you stumble on something like the homing missiles. And yeah, collecting those glowing photons never gets old—though good luck grabbing them all when half the level is trying to kill you.
It’s got that classic Genesis-era challenge, too. One minute you’re breezing through, the next you’re getting swarmed by enemies from all sides. But when you finally nail a tricky jump or clear a room without taking damage, it feels so good. Definitely one of the better platformers from that era.
