Vendetta is that gritty, early '90s arcade brawler where you pick one of four street fighters—each with their own weirdly specific fighting style—and just start smashing through waves of thugs. The first time I played, I went with the guy who fights with a chain because, well, chains are cool. Big mistake. Turns out his range is great, but he’s slow as hell when you’re surrounded.
What makes it stand out from other beat 'em ups is how brutal the combat feels. You can grab enemies in headlocks, throw them into dumpsters, or just curb-stomp them while they’re down. And if you’ve got a friend, the co-op mode turns it into this chaotic mess where you’re accidentally punching each other as much as the bad guys. Classic arcade nonsense.
It’s not the deepest game, but there’s something satisfying about the crunch of a well-timed pipe swing or watching a whole group of enemies go flying after a special move. Just don’t expect to beat it on one credit unless you’ve got quarters to burn.
