Game Overview

Vindex is this weirdly hypnotic Amiga shooter that feels like Space Harrier if it got zapped with 80s arcade energy. You're piloting a little ship through these trippy pseudo-3D levels where the terrain scrolls in this grid pattern that shouldn't look cool but somehow does.

At first it seems simple—just dodge and shoot the swarms of alien ships coming at you—but then you notice how the sprites scale smoothly as they get closer, and suddenly you're leaning into turns like it's an actual cockpit. There's something satisfying about how the point system works too; you'll be halfway through level 3 before realizing you've been chasing high scores instead of just surviving.

Nine levels might not sound like much, but some of those later stages get properly chaotic with enemy patterns. I still remember the first time I reached the final boss and got absolutely wrecked in seconds. The galaxy might need a better savior than me.
