Game Overview

Vyper is that classic Amiga shooter that feels like Galaga cranked up a notch—you’re at the bottom of the screen, blasting waves of Yarks (those are the aliens, by the way) as they swoop in formation before breaking off to dive-bomb you. The first few levels ease you in, but pretty soon you’re dealing with 25 different enemy types, each with their own annoying movement quirks. Some zigzag, others spiral, and a few just seem to have a personal vendetta against your ship.

You start with three lives, and losing them all means starting over—though you do get an extra ship every three levels if you’re good enough. The two-player hot-seat mode is where it really shines, trading the controller back and forth while arguing about who messed up the last run. It’s simple, punishing, and weirdly satisfying when you finally clear a tough wave.
