Game Overview

Waterloo on the Amiga is one of those wargames that makes you feel like you're actually stuck in the 19th century, shouting orders that might never arrive. You play as Napoleon or Wellington, but forget about godlike control—your commands crawl through messengers and officers who might just... ignore you. Local commanders do their own thing sometimes, which is equal parts frustrating and weirdly realistic.

The text parser for orders takes some getting used to (no fancy menus here), and there’s this brutal delay between deciding something and seeing it happen—if it happens at all. By 9:30 PM, the battle’s over whether you’re ready or not, and the after-action reports are oddly satisfying to dig through. Not for the impatient, but if you ever wanted to know why Napoleon looked so stressed in paintings, this’ll give you a clue.
