Play Wimbledon Championship Tennis (Europe) Online
Play as a pro tennis player, move around the court, return shots, and compete in the Wimbledon tournament or exhibition matches on Sega Genesis.
Wimbledon Championship Tennis came out for the Sega Genesis in 1993, developed by SIMS and published by Sega. It was one of the few tennis games on the system that tried to capture the feel of a major tournament, arriving at a time when sports titles were becoming more detailed and responsive.
You control a professional tennis player, moving them around the court to return shots and win matches across various surfaces. The main objective is to compete in the Wimbledon tournament, though you can also play exhibition matches. Signature mechanics include a power shot system, where holding the button charges a stronger return, and the ability to apply topspin or slice to alter the ball's trajectory. Matches move at a brisk pace, and the AI offers a decent challenge without feeling unfair. It feels satisfying when you time a shot just right and place the ball exactly where you want it.
