Winner's Horse was a 1990 Game Boy release from developer Athena, a straightforward racing game that fit right in with the platform's early library of portable, pick-up-and-play titles. You control a jockey on a horse, viewed from a side perspective, and the goal is simply to win each race by mashing the A button to accelerate. The core mechanics are built around managing your horse's stamina, which depletes as you sprint, and timing your bursts of speed to overtake opponents on the straightaways.
