World Cup Cricket Masters on the Amiga was one of those sports games that somehow made pixelated cricket feel intense. You pick your team, adjust the field placements (which took me way too long to figure out at first), and then it’s all about timing those button presses for shots—get it right, and the ball rockets to the boundary. Miss, and you’re staring at a shattered wicket.

The commentary text adds this weirdly charming touch, like it’s genuinely impressed when you hit a six. And the fielders? They move in these janky but endearing little sprints. It’s not the prettiest cricket sim out there, but there’s something about the way it captures the tension of a close match that keeps you glued.

If you’ve got an Amiga and even a passing interest in cricket, this one’s a solid time-waster.
