X-Perts came out for the Sega Genesis in 1996, developed and published by Sega. It was one of those late-era releases that tried to do something a little different on the aging hardware, a puzzle-action hybrid that felt more deliberate than the platformers and shooters dominating the system.

You control a team of three agents, each with a unique skill; you switch between them to hack computers, fight guards, and solve environmental puzzles. The main goal is to infiltrate a series of high-tech facilities, room by room, to complete objectives before time or security measures overwhelm you. The mechanics are built around this constant switching and planning, managing each agent's health and energy while dealing with patrols and locked doors. It moves at a tense, methodical pace, and a single mistake can spiral into failure. Playing it feels like carefully assembling a solution while the clock is actively working against you.
