Game Overview
Yakusoku no Chi Riviera (or just Riviera if you're not into full titles) is one of those weird little GBA RPGs that somehow blends dungeon crawling, dating sim vibes, and a bizarre weapon durability system. You play as this angel dude who gets sent to a doomed world with a party of girls—classic setup, right?
Combat's turn-based but with a twist: you only get a handful of attacks per battle before your gear breaks, so you're constantly swapping weapons mid-fight. The dating sim part sneaks up on you—chat choices actually matter, and who you bond with changes how scenes play out. The pixel art's gorgeous though, especially for a GBA game, and the music slaps. Just don't expect to hoard healing items like a JRPG squirrel—this game keeps you on your toes.
Sting made some odd choices here, but it works way better than it should.
