It’s basically the spirit tournament crammed into a Genesis cartridge—pixelated Yusuke throwing Spirit Guns, Hiei doing his edgy teleport thing, and Kurama whipping people with rose vines. The coolest part? You pick two characters and swap between them mid-fight, which was pretty mind-blowing for a 16-bit brawler.
The AI absolutely cheats, by the way. Like, "randomly countering your super move from across the screen" cheats. But nailing a perfect team combo with Kuwabara’s sword into Kurama’s plant trap still feels amazing. The sprites are chunky but full of personality, and the soundtrack nails that early 90s anime vibe. It’s janky, unbalanced, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
