Game Overview

ZooCube came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Blizzard. It was one of those puzzle games that felt right at home on the handheld, something you could pick up between classes or on a short bus ride. The GBA had a lot of quirky, inventive titles, and this one fit right in without trying to be the next big thing.

You control a floating cube in the center of the screen, rotating it to catch animal blocks sliding in from the edges. The goal is to match three of the same animal on one face of the cube, which makes them disappear and buys you a little more time. As the blocks slide faster and the cube fills up, you have to think quickly about rotations and placements. The difficulty spikes pretty sharply, turning what starts as a relaxed matching game into a tense race against the clock. It feels frantic but satisfying when you pull off a last-second clear.
