Game Overview

Zyconix is one of those puzzle games that looks simple at first—blocks fall, you match colors, no big deal—but then it throws curveballs at you. Instead of neat columns, you get single blocks sliding down in groups, and you’ve got to grab and shuffle them with a cursor before they pile up. Matching three only works horizontally or diagonally, which makes you rethink every move.

There’s a weirdly satisfying chaos to it, especially when bombs or drills show up to shake things up. My favorite part? The breakout ball—you can actually deflect it using a block as a paddle, which feels ridiculous but works. Two-player mode gets brutal fast, since every line you clear dumps unbreakable blocks on your opponent’s side. And if you’re playing solo, tweaking the difficulty (more colors, bigger matches needed) keeps it from getting stale.

It’s faster and meaner than your average block-dropper, but in a way that makes you want just one more try.
