I picked up 2 in 1 - Madagascar & Shrek 2 for the Game Boy Advance back when it came out. It was one of those budget-friendly cartridges that bundled two movie tie-ins together, published by Activision. It fit right in with the era's habit of mashing up licensed games onto one chip, giving you two very different experiences without swapping carts. It wasn't trying to be groundbreaking, just a solid double feature for younger players or anyone who wanted some simple platforming fun on the go.

You control Alex the lion in the Madagascar section, running and jumping through linear stages, avoiding obstacles and bopping enemies. In Shrek 2, you play as the ogre himself, brawling through fantasy settings, clearing screens of knights and creatures. Both games focus on straightforward action, moving from left to right, with some light collecting, grab fruit in Madagascar or smash objects for coins in Shrek. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty stays manageable, making it easy to pick up for short sessions. It feels like a cheerful, no-fuss arcade throwback that captures the energy of the films without overcomplicating things.
