2 In 1 - Shrek 2 & Shark Tale is one of those GBA cartridges that crams two movie tie-in games together. You get Shrek 2's side-scrolling platforming and Shark Tale's underwater levels, both with that early 2000s licensed game feel. The controls are a little stiff, but the art style does a decent job capturing the movies.
Shrek 2 has you jumping through swamps and castles, hitting enemies with basic attacks. Shark Tale is more about dodging obstacles and collecting shells. Neither is particularly deep, but they’re short enough that the variety keeps it from getting too repetitive. The music loops get old fast, though.
It’s the kind of game you’d rent as a kid, beat in an afternoon, and forget about. Not terrible, just very much of its time.
