Game Overview
4th & Inches is one of those old-school Amiga football games where you actually feel like you're calling the shots. You pick the plays, decide when to burn a timeout (usually at the worst possible moment), and even tweak your lineup—though I always ended up sticking with the default All-Pros because their stats looked slightly less terrible than the Champs.
The gameplay’s a mix of quick reflexes and questionable strategy. One second you’re threading a pass between defenders, the next you’re watching your running back get flattened because you forgot to check his speed rating. The pixelated tackles have this satisfying crunch to them, and there’s something weirdly addictive about cycling through player stats mid-game, pretending you know what you’re doing.
It’s simple, a little janky, and exactly what you’d expect from a two-team Amiga sports title. Just don’t blame me when your QB gets sacked for the third time in a row.
