Ace Combat Advance came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by HumanSoft and published by Namco. You take on the role of a fighter pilot in a near-future conflict, flying a variety of jet aircraft through a series of combat missions.

You control your plane from a third-person perspective, maneuvering to lock missiles onto enemy fighters or ground targets while avoiding incoming fire. The main objective is to complete mission goals, which range from air superiority to bombing runs and escort duty. Signature mechanics include managing your limited missile supply, switching between air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons, and navigating using a top-down radar map. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike sharply, especially when dealing with swarms of enemies in later stages. It feels tense and demanding, requiring quick reflexes and careful resource management to survive each sortie.
