Play Ace Lightning Online
Wander an amusement park where every door leads to a different side-scrolling world—pirate ships, sci-fi zones, all packed with enemies to dodge while hunting for the Gold Amulet. The mini-games are weirdly addictive, especially that brutal mallet bell-ringing challenge.

I picked up Ace Lightning for the Game Boy Advance back in 2002, a game published by BBC Multimedia. It was one of those licensed titles that felt very much of its time, a straightforward action platformer trying to stand out on a system crowded with them. You play as a kid named Chuck who gets pulled into a video game world, which was a fun premise even if the execution was a bit simple.
You control Chuck, navigating through themed levels like pirate ships and sci-fi zones, each broken into separate screens. The main goal is to find pieces of the Gold Amulet by defeating enemies and solving minor puzzles. You have a basic sword attack for combat and a double jump to navigate platforms, with some levels including short mini-games, like a mallet challenge to ring bells. The pacing is brisk, though some enemy placements feel cheap, leading to occasional frustration. It feels like a solid, if unspectacular, way to pass an afternoon.
