Play Aero the Acro-Bat 2 (Europe) on sega Online

Aero's back with tighter controls—you'll spin, dive, and barely clear gaps while Ektor throws everything at you. Those minecart sections? Pure '90s platformer cruelty, but nailing a perfect glide feels so good.

Game Overview

Okay, so Aero the Acro-Bat 2 is one of those Genesis platformers that somehow flew under the radar back in the day. You're still playing as that purple bat with way too much attitude, spinning and gliding through levels that feel like someone cranked the difficulty up from the first game. Ektor's back (of course he survived—villains always do) and now there's this weird mix of circus themes and industrial zones that shouldn't work but somehow does.

The controls take a second to click—you'll faceplant a few times before nailing the mid-air somersaults—but once you get the rhythm, chaining moves together feels surprisingly smooth. Also, whoever designed the minecart level clearly hated players, just saying. It's got that classic '90s platformer charm where everything's just slightly unfair in the best way.

If you liked the first one or just want to see a bat throw ninja stars at robots, it's worth dusting off the Genesis for.
