Play Akumajou Dracula - Circle of the Moon (J)(Capital) Online
Whip candles for hearts, dodge flying bones, and scramble through Dracula’s cramped castle while praying enemies drop decent DSS cards—this one’s got that old-school Castlevania weight with a mean GBA crunch. That soundtrack? Pure handheld sorcery.

Konami released Akumajou Dracula - Circle of the Moon for the Game Boy Advance in 2001. It was one of the earliest titles for the system, arriving when handheld gaming was shifting toward more complex, console-like experiences. The game carries the atmosphere and structure of earlier Castlevania titles but adapts them for portable play, with a large, interconnected castle to explore and a moody color palette suited to the hardware's limitations.
You control Nathan Graves, a vampire hunter armed with a whip, tasked with defeating Dracula after his resurrection. The goal is to navigate the castle room by room, defeating monsters and bosses while gradually unlocking new areas with abilities gained along the way. Two key mechanics define the gameplay: the Dual Set-up System (DSS), which lets you combine magical cards dropped by enemies to create temporary buffs or attacks, and the emphasis on platforming and precise combat. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be steep, especially when relying on random card drops. Moving through the castle’s halls, mastering the timing of jumps and attacks, and experimenting with card combinations gives the action a tense, exploratory rhythm.
