Alienators: Evolution Continues is one of those GBA games that feels like a hidden gem—especially if you're into that early 2000s sci-fi cartoon vibe. You play as Ira, leading a team called the Alienators through a research lab overrun by mutated creatures. It’s not just a straight run-and-gun; the levels are these maze-like layouts where you’re hunting for keycards and backtracking to unlock new areas. Kinda gives off Metroid-lite vibes, but with more aliens and way more firepower.

Your basic gun never runs out of ammo, which is nice, but the real fun comes from the special weapons you find scattered around. Problem is, their ammo’s limited, so you’ll hoard it like crazy once you realize some of the bosses are absolute bullet sponges. Speaking of bosses, there are eight of them, and a few familiar faces from the show pop up too—some help, some try to wreck you. The pixel art’s surprisingly detailed for a GBA title, and the animations are smooth enough that blasting through hordes of mutants never gets old. Just don’t expect a walk in the park—some of those mazes will have you going in circles until you memorize the layout.
