Download Amnios_Disk2 ROM – Amiga Game
Top-down shooter with 10 levels. Thrust-and-rotate controls. Two objectives: eliminate infection or rescue civilians. Craft weapons from blueprints. Momentum-based movement. Amiga, 1991.
Amnios_Disk2 is one of those Amiga shooters that feels familiar at first—like Asteroids with its thrust-and-rotate controls—but then throws in some clever twists. You’re flying over these infected planets, each with its own messed-up ecosystem, and you’ve got two ways to beat a level: either blast enough of the infection to save the planet or rescue civilians before they get wiped out (kinda like Defender).
What’s neat is the weapon crafting system. You’ll find blueprints scattered around, and if you haul them back to your ship, you can build specialized tools to take down specific infected organs faster. Some of them are downright weird, like fighting giant pulsing growths with what feels like a sci-fi scalpel. The first time I played, I ignored the blueprints and just shot everything—big mistake. Turns out, some planets are way easier if you actually use the right tools.
It’s got that classic Amiga vibe—bright colors, chunky sprites, and a soundtrack that’s equal parts eerie and energetic. If you’re into retro shooters with a bit of strategy, this one’s worth digging up.
