Game Overview

Andre Agassi Tennis came out for the Sega Genesis in 1994, developed by TecMagik and published by Sega. It was one of the few tennis games available on the system, arriving at a time when sports simulations were becoming more common but still often felt a bit stiff or limited. The game featured Andre Agassi on the cover, and his presence gave it some immediate recognition among tennis fans.

You control a tennis player from an isometric view, moving around the court to hit forehands and backhands. The main goal is to win matches by outscoring opponents in sets, either in a single exhibition or through a full tournament. Key mechanics include timing your shots for power or precision, positioning your player to cover the court, and trying to anticipate where the computer will hit the ball. The pacing is fairly quick, and the difficulty can spike against stronger opponents, demanding better reflexes and strategy. It feels satisfying when you place a shot just right and watch it land where the opponent can't reach it.
