Play Arctic Tale Online
You start as a wobbly polar bear cub sniffing for fish under ice, then switch to a hyper fox and a clumsy walrus—each with their own way of barely surviving the Arctic. The snow looks shockingly good for a GBA, even when you're failing at walrus hunting minigames.

Game Overview
Arctic Tale on the GBA is way more charming than I expected—you start off as this tiny polar bear cub just trying not to freeze or starve in the middle of nowhere. The snow looks surprisingly good for a handheld game, and there’s something weirdly satisfying about sniffing out fish under the ice or collecting those little paw prints that unlock behind-the-scenes photos from the documentary.
Later you get to play as a walrus (which means diving into these murky underwater sections) and an arctic fox that moves like it’s had three cups of coffee. The mini-games are hit or miss—Ice Slide’s fun once you get the hang of it, but good luck not throwing your GBA during Walrus Hunt. The survival stuff keeps you on your toes though—if your heart meter drains, it’s game over, so you’re always poking around for clams or trying to ambush seals.
It’s got that early 2000s licensed game jank, but in a way that makes it weirdly endearing. You’ll probably finish it in an afternoon, but it’s a cozy little time capsule.
