Play Army Men - Turf Wars (U)(Mode7) Online

You lead a squad of tiny plastic soldiers through oversized backyards and kitchen tables, flanking cereal box forts and dodging toy tanks that somehow still feel dangerous. The goofy scale makes every firefight weirdly intense.

Game Overview

Army Men: Turf Wars came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by DC Studios and published by 3DO. It was part of that wave of portable games that tried to bring a full console-style experience to the small screen, fitting right in with other action titles of the era.

You control a single green plastic soldier from an overhead view, moving through discrete screens that represent different parts of a house. Your main goal is to complete missions by wiping out tan army men, destroying their structures, and sometimes rescuing fellow soldiers. Signature mechanics include using a variety of weapons you find on the ground, like machine guns and bazookas, and driving vehicles such as jeeps to quickly cross larger areas. The pacing is fairly methodical; you clear one area before advancing, and the difficulty comes from being outnumbered and managing limited health. It feels like a small, contained war happening right under everyone's nose.
