Army Men: Turf Wars came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, published by 3DO. It was part of that wave of portable games trying to capture the feel of bigger console shooters, but with simpler controls and smaller levels. You weren't getting a graphical powerhouse, but it was a solid attempt to bring that kind of action on the go.

You control a green plastic soldier fighting through suburban battlefields like backyards and kitchens. Your main goal is to complete missions by wiping out the tan army forces, often securing areas or destroying key objects. The game uses an overhead view, and you move screen by screen, clearing enemies with a selection of weapons like rifles, grenades, and a particularly satisfying flamethrower. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly in later stages. It feels like a chaotic, miniature war fought with whatever toys are lying around.
