Play Astro Rabby (Japan) Online
Guide Rabby through space, collect carrots, dodge aliens, and bounce on springs to navigate tricky platforming challenges.
Astro Rabby came out for the Game Boy in 1990, developed by IGS. It was one of those early platformers that tried something a little different, with a space theme and a rabbit protagonist at a time when the handheld was still finding its library. The game doesn't get talked about much now, but it had a certain charm if you found a copy back then.
You control Rabby, a rabbit in a space helmet, and your goal is to collect all the carrots on each screen while avoiding aliens and pits. The main mechanics involve bouncing on springs that send you flying across the stage, sometimes farther than you intend, which adds a layer of risk to the platforming. You move screen by screen, and the challenge comes from timing your jumps and managing momentum as enemies respawn. It feels a bit unpredictable but satisfying when you nail a tricky series of bounces.
