Astro Rabby is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that somehow makes falling through space feel oddly satisfying. You play as a rabbit hopping between floating platforms—some solid, some ready to crumble under your feet—while the screen scrolls relentlessly forward. The bigger the platform, the higher it is, so you’re constantly judging jumps on the fly.
At first, I kept overshooting and plummeting into the abyss, but once you get the rhythm down, bouncing between blocks feels great. The real trick is hunting for that hidden heart in the question-mark blocks—it’s the only way to finish a level. And yeah, there are enemies, but you can blast them with your gun if you’re quick. Just don’t get too trigger-happy, because ammo’s limited.
It’s simple, a little janky, and surprisingly addictive once you get into the flow. The space levels are especially brutal—fewer platforms, more panic. You’ll either love it or rage-quit after the third fall. No in-between.
