Attack Animal Gakuen came out in 1990 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, published by Pony Canyon. You control a student navigating a school overrun by hostile animals, shooting your way through each stage while dodging enemy projectiles. The main goal is to clear each area of enemies and survive until the end, using a standard shot and occasional power-ups to increase your firepower. The game uses a forced scrolling mechanic, pushing you forward constantly, which keeps the pressure high as you react to waves of enemies. It can feel unforgiving at times, with limited continues and aggressive enemy patterns. Playing it is a mix of frustration and satisfaction, especially when you finally memorize a tricky section and blast through without taking a hit.
