Play Backyard Baseball 2006 Online
You pick a team of tiny MLB stars and neighborhood kids, then smash homers through backyards and actual stadiums—power-ups turn your pitches into lasers or make your bat unstoppable. The season mode slowly unlocks wilder fields and abilities the more ridiculous plays you pull off.

Backyard Baseball 2006 on the GBA is basically what happens if you shrink down MLB stars into kids and let them loose in sandlot games. You’ve got your Derek Jeters and Barry Bondses (yeah, that era) as pint-sized versions of themselves, mixed in with a bunch of neighborhood kids who somehow throw fireballs and swing metal bats that guarantee homers. The fields range from proper stadiums to someone’s actual backyard—complete with lawn chairs and garden hoses as obstacles.
Season mode’s the real meat of it—16 or 32 games where you slowly unlock new fields and abilities by pulling off double plays or nailing crazy pitches. The power-ups feel ridiculous in the best way: hit a homer, and suddenly your next pitch is an unhittable laser. Fielding’s less of a guessing game now too, with a red target showing where the ball’s gonna drop (a lifesaver after the 2002 version’s wild guesswork).
It’s goofy, bright, and just deep enough to keep you tweaking uniforms or fiddling with difficulty sliders between games. The mini-games are decent time-killers, but honestly, I just kept coming back to see how many homers I could rack up with a metal bat before the other team rage-quit. Still holds up if you like your baseball with a side of cartoon chaos.
