Banana Prince is one of those weird, charming NES platformers that never made it outside Japan and Germany. You play as this little dude with a banana-shaped crown (obviously) jumping through bright, colorful levels full of quirky enemies—some of them straight-up look like walking fruit baskets. The controls are floaty at first, but once you get used to the momentum, bouncing on enemies and grabbing power-ups feels oddly satisfying.
Germany got a slightly tweaked version with different sprites—apparently someone thought the original designs were too strange? Either way, it’s got that classic early ‘90s platformer vibe where everything’s just a little offbeat. The music’s catchy, the levels are short but packed with secrets, and yeah, you’ll probably laugh at how random some of the enemy choices are.
