Game Overview
Battle Circuit is one of those late '90s arcade gems that somehow flew under the radar. You pick from this weirdly awesome crew—like a cyborg lady with extendable arms or a dude who fights with a literal dolphin—and just wreck your way through waves of bizarre enemies. The first time I played, I went with the catgirl because, well, catgirl, and immediately got smacked by a giant shrimp boss. Lesson learned.
The colors pop like crazy, even today, and the action never lets up. It's got that perfect arcade feel where you're constantly mashing buttons but still need to dodge and time your special moves. Also, the soundtrack slaps—expect lots of cheesy synth beats that somehow make punching a clown-themed gang even more satisfying.
If you're into beat 'em ups with personality (and a healthy dose of Capcom weirdness), this one's a blast with friends or solo. Just don't underestimate the shrimp.
