Play Battle Network Rockman EXE 2 Online
You play as Lan, dodging attacks on a grid while MegaMan.EXE blasts viruses with chips you collect—it’s half deck-building, half lightning-fast combat that clicks once you nail the combos. The cyberspace areas feel huge, and Gospel’s villains get surprisingly dark for a GBA game.

Battle Network Rockman EXE 2 is still one of my favorite GBA games—it’s like someone took Mega Man, threw in deck-building, and made every fight feel like a lightning-fast puzzle. You’re basically Lan, running around the real world while MegaMan.EXE handles battles in cyberspace, and the whole thing plays out on this grid where you dodge attacks and counter with chips you’ve collected. At first, I kept fumbling my combos, but once you get the hang of chaining attacks together, it clicks in the best way.
The sequel adds these sprawling new Net Areas that feel way bigger than the first game, plus some brutal late-game viruses that’ll wreck you if you’re not careful. And the story? Gospel’s a legit creepy villain group—way darker than I expected from a game with cartoon sprites. If you’ve never played a Battle Network game before, this is the one where the mechanics really hit their stride. Just don’t blame me when you lose hours tweaking your folder setups.
