Download Battlehawks 1942_Disk1 ROM – Amiga Game
WWII Pacific air combat simulator. Fly 12 aircraft variants across 4 operations. Engage in dogfights and naval battles against 20+ ship types. Amiga, 1988.
Battlehawks 1942 puts you right in the cockpit of a WWII fighter over the Pacific, and man, does it feel authentic. You pick either the U.S. or Japanese side, then dive into one of four major operations—Midway, Guadalcanal, you know the big ones. The planes handle like they’ve got real weight to them, and the manual? Packed with enough historical tidbits to make you feel like you’re learning while you dogfight.
There’s a solid mix of 12 aircraft (some are just variants, but still) and around 20 ship types bobbing around the ocean below you. It’s the first in Lucasfilm’s WWII trilogy, and you can tell they put effort into making it more than just a shoot-em-up. Just don’t expect arcade action—this one’s got that old-school sim vibe where every move counts.
