You start by picking a side—American or Japanese—and suddenly you're in the cockpit over the Pacific, trying not to get shot down while lining up your own shots. The manual's packed with real WWII details, which is cool if you're into history, but honestly, I just wanted to dive into the dogfights. There's something weirdly satisfying about the way the Zero handles compared to the Corsair.
Four different operations to fly through, and the ships below actually look like tiny versions of the real thing. It's not just window dressing either—you can strafe them, bomb them, or (if you're like me) accidentally crash into them. First of three games in this series, and you can tell they put effort into making it feel authentic without being boring.
Just don't expect fancy graphics—this is an Amiga game, after all. But the tension when you're low on ammo with an enemy on your tail? That still holds up.
