Beastlord_Disk2 is one of those Amiga games that starts simple—you're just a guy who can talk to animals—and then suddenly you're knee-deep in orcs, puzzles, and a weirdly persistent hunger meter. The setup’s classic: some edgy "Lord of Darkness" locked up the world’s guardians (a unicorn, a hawk, and… a beam of light?), and now you’ve gotta free them while side-scrolling through three surprisingly maze-like levels.
Combat’s straightforward—you punch stuff, they drop food or coins, and you pray it’s enough to keep your energy from bottoming out. But the real meat is figuring out where to use what item, or who to trade with. That pop-up menu for talking to NPCs feels clunky at first, but you get used to it. Oh, and watch the time—some doors only open at night, which is either annoying or atmospheric, depending on your patience.
It’s got that old-school charm where everything wants to kill you, including your own stomach.
