Game Overview
Beyblade: Metal Fusion on DS is basically the closest you'll get to actually battling with those spinning tops from the anime. You start off in this weird tournament where bladers keep getting knocked out cold after losing—something shady's going on, and of course it's up to you to figure it out.
The battles are way more intense than you'd expect from little spinning tops. You control your Beyblade directly, nudging it around the arena while it clashes with others, building up energy for flashy special moves. The first time you pull off a "Lightning Sword Drive" or whatever ridiculous attack your Bey has, it feels pretty awesome.
There's a whole garage mode where you tweak your Bey's parts (balance it for speed, defense, etc.), and you can unlock like 19 characters from the show—though half of them take some work to get. The Wi-Fi battles were fun back when people actually played them, and yelling voice commands into the DS mic was hit-or-miss but hilarious when it worked.
It's not perfect, but if you ever launched a Beyblade across your living room as a kid, this game nails that chaotic energy.
