Beyblade: Metal Masters - Nightmare Rex came out for the Nintendo DS in 2011, developed by Hudson Soft. It was part of that wave of tie-in games that tried to capture the feel of the anime and toy line, a pretty common sight on the handheld around that time.
You control a Blader, customizing your Beyblade's performance parts before sending it into the stadium. The main goal is to win tournaments by either knocking out your opponent's Bey or outscoring them before time runs out. Key mechanics include timing your special move attacks by tapping the screen at the right moment and managing your Bey's spin balance during clashes. The pacing is fast, with matches that can turn quickly if you mistime a big attack. It feels like a direct, hands-on version of those plastic arena battles from the show.
