Game Overview

Big Nose the Caveman is one of those classic Amiga platformers that just oozes charm. You play as, well, a caveman named Big Nose who decides a passing pterodactyl would make a great meal—and off you go swinging your club through jungles, caves, and who knows where else.

The first thing you notice is how weighty the movement feels—Big Nose isn’t some nimble acrobat, so jumps take commitment. Early on, you’re mostly bonking dinosaurs on the head with your club, but soon you’ll stumble into hidden shops where bones (yep, bones) buy you wild upgrades like boomerangs and fire spells. The shops are these weird little huts tucked in corners, and half the fun is scraping together enough bones to afford something ridiculous.

It’s got that perfect balance of jank and creativity—sometimes you’ll get knocked into pits by a sneaky raptor, other times you’ll melt a T-Rex with a fireball and feel like a genius. The levels get pretty inventive too, with waterfalls, volcanoes, and the occasional UFO because why not? It’s a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and neither should you.
